Deep Blue Sky were approached by local Bath startup Climbing Fish to develop and implement a means of putting their vision into practice - understanding people’s passions and connecting them with like-minded people. We worked closely with them to understand their unique needs and what they wished to achieve, and provided ideas and refinement as the process evolved in an iterative fashion.

Web-based, but not a conventional “website”, the team of dedicated Deep Blue Sky staff built upon the flexible and robust Spirit Framework to ensure that Climbing Fish’s desire to help people make life-changing connections became a reality.

The system we developed was a intricate one - seamlessly interfacing, online and in real-time behind the scenes with no fewer than three external services, spanning the globe, Deep Blue Sky have been able to provide a unified and integrated user journey for Climbing Fish participants.

With a time-dependent facet to the Climbing Fish project the system operates around the clock processing the data gathered by the Climbing Fish participants, and automatically sending out communications according to a complex set of criteria. Deep Blue Sky have implemented the mechanics to make this possible.

Many aspects of this project were unique to Climbing Fish - from the database structure to the combination of external services with which they needed to communicate, automatically, to the behind-the-scenes continuous processing that needs to take place. In all these areas Deep Blue Sky rose to the challenge and proved their expertise and competence.
