What a lovely introduction to business networking. Thanks to the FSB, Homeward Park and to everyone who attended this morning.
Photographers
Two of the chaps I met were photographers.
Tim Gander strikes me as an incredibly talented, traditional, journalistic photographer of all kinds of people, places with a real eye for capturing a moment. Bath being such a small world it turns out we've both done work for a mutual client - Bray Leino PR over in Bristol. He's done some really fabulous work... which you can see for yourself.
My other photographic encounter was Robert Brown a 'high impact aerial photographer' - and the photos are really very striking - but it's done not from an aircraft but from some sort of modified army tank mast... Robert tells me that he can get to pretty much any location, set up the rig and get the photos done in just an hour or two which is just not the way airborne photographers work.
You can see some of Robert's work here and I've already recommended him to one of our clients, Langley Waterproofing, who are I'm sure always keen to get good shots of the roofs that they've comepleted.
Green Roofing
Talking of Langley I also chatted briefly to Will Sturges who's company Sturland is all about keeping building green. Putting green roofs ( I'm talking about living, breathing, grass roofs ) on buildings seems to me like a pretty good idea.
Getting out and meeting people
I'm sure there are a million and one little networking groups like this and after FOWD a couple of weeks back and now this great introduction to the FSB I think I've got the bug.
Can anyone recommend any other groups in the South West that are worth meeting up with?
