8 Apps to Organise Your Life

We've tested a mountain of apps to find the most effective for bringing order to your life.

As a society, we rely heavily on mobile technology. From checking emails and catching up with the latest news to tracking what we eat and sharing photos of said food with our friends, (please stop doing that) we are all obsessed with our phones.

With this in mind, we've collated a list of the top apps available for Android and iOS, to help you organise your everyday life. We've tested a mountain of apps and of these apps, we've listed the top eight, complete with star rating and comments.

1. 24me (free) ***

24me syncs with your mobile's calendar, contacts and location. Add appointments via microphone for when you're on the go and set reminders and task lists. The app itself is a little uninspiring aesthetically, but a good tool nevertheless.

2. MyFitnessPal (free) *****

MyFitnessPal has everything you could ask for from a lifestyle app. Allowing for the tracking of exercise, food and water intake, your daily food diary can even display your food consumption as a pie chart, showing the percentage of carbohydrates, protein and fat, etc. The best lifestyle tracking app we've encountered due to the product scan feature, which allows you to simply scan the barcode of a food item to add it to your diary. Magic.

3. Spending Tracker (free) iTunes only ****

Track your income against expenditure with the ability to set budgets and receive alerts when you're spending too much! Handy little tool.

Our only gripe is that it will cost you £2.29 to gain access to the following features:

Repeating transactions (such as a monthly salary)
Automatic syncing
Backup and restore
Export to CSV and PDF
No ads or popups

4.  Harvest (free) *****

Track your time and submit timesheets to your line manager with this useful app. Simple and easy to use with a handy timer function.

5. RedLaser (free) *****

Use RedLaser to scan barcodes and find the cheapest prices online.

6. Dragon Dictation (free) ****

This app becomes more and more accurate when translating your voice into text, the more you use it. Dictate emails and documents etc. on the go.

7. If this, then that (ifttt) (free) *****

As a favourite of our Head of Production, this app is outstanding. Set rules such as 'If I set my alarm for 7:00, then turn the hot water on at 6:30'. You can set 'if,thens' for just about anything!

 8. SignNow (free) ***

This business app allows you to add your signature to an email, a document on Dropbox, an image and much more with minimal effort and time.
